Decathlon, Oldrati Group and ESO RECYCLING receive the 2024 Sustainable Development Award.

In collaboration with the Circular Economy Network, in the circular economy category, the 2024 Sustainable Development Award has been assigned to DECATHLON, together with Oldrati Group and ESO RECYCLING, for the production of the Hike 100 ice traction cleats.
These cleats are made using a compound containing 40–50% rubber derived from recycled end-of-life inner tubes, thanks to the use of an innovative industrial-scale devulcanization process.
The 2024 Sustainable Development Award, promoted by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and Italian Exhibition Group SpA, with the patronage of the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, has reached its fourteenth edition this year.
The award was presented in recent days during ECOMONDO.
We are particularly pleased with this recognition, which highlights the commitment of our esosport brand in the collection and management of end-of-life inner tubes and tyres.
Through our ESObox collection points, we are present in 86 DECATHLON stores across Italy, contributing to closing the circular economy loop with an innovative and sustainable project.
From the collection of end-of-life sports materials to their transformation into new products, this project represents a concrete example of circular economy in action.
