How esosport® balls works
Sporty people and enthusiasts know very well that playing with a deflated ball, which has lost its original characteristics, is tiring, less effective, and poses a risk of injury. Tennis teachers, in fact, use large quantities of balls during their lessons, and after just a few matches, they are easily disposed of and replaced.
Considering that a mid-sized tennis club consumes up to about 700 balls per month, finding a new solution for this waste is essential for environmental protection.
esosport® balls is a recycling sports project created by esosport® for collecting and recycling tennis balls. It offers clubs, specialized stores, and sports facilities with tennis courts the opportunity to have an ESObox container for collecting used balls.
esosport®’s commitment with this new initiative is to remove waste material from landfills, giving it a new form and socially meaningful uses, after processing and recycling.
Through a precise separation process, the internal part of the balls made of EPDM produces a granulate used for playground surfaces—secondary raw material— which, via the GOGREEN Onlus association, is donated free of charge to public administrations for the construction of Betty’s Gardens (dedicated to Elisabetta Salvioni Meletiou) and Pietro’s Track (a project dedicated to Pietro Mennea).
